Ponds
Aerated lagoons are being required to meet increasingly stringent effluent limits, often including advanced nutrient removal. The LemTec™ biological treatment process has an effective solution for phosphorous removal that employs a chemical dosing system, low horsepower pumps and mixers. In Lemna’s low-cost and reliable system, phosphorous is precipitated chemically by the addition of coagulants (such as alum or ferric chloride) that cause dissolved or suspended contaminants to settle out of solution as solid floc particles that are removed with waste biological sludge. Lemna’s phosphorous removal system meets limits of less than 1 mg/l.
