Lemna Hydraulic Baffles
Most wastewater ponds have limited wastewater treatment capability for a variety of reasons. One of the most common problems is short-circuiting, which is the result of plug flow traveling directly from the influent pipe to the outfall structure, vastly reducing detention time within the basin. Inadequate detention time causes incomplete wastewater treatment and discharge violations.
Lemna was the first company to develop and install a reverse miter baffle that essentially eliminated short-circuiting at the shoreline. Lemna hired divers and conducted extensive dye studies during their research and development to create one of the best baffles in the industry. Lemna's unique baffle design is an integral part of the treatment process and is one of the reasons the Lemna systems are successful. Their baffle designs have eliminated common problems found with other types of baffles.
Lemna hydraulic baffles are built with industrial grade XR-5, heavyduty 5/8” ballast chain, stainless steel cable and hardware and 6 in. closed cell polystyrene. Each baffle is custom built to conform to the exact dimensions of the basin in which it will be installed. Lemna’s attention to to detail, workmanship, design, and quality are reasons why their baffles have proven to be effective and long lasting.
