Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) Removal

Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) removal is critical to wastewater treatment. The LemTec biological treatment process optimizes BOD removal to meet limits previously thought unattainable in aerated lagoon facilities. The LemTec system design minimizes temperature fluctuations and prevents the adverse treatment effects of peak flow events. The system’s low horsepower is efficient in both aeration and mixing, and requires a smaller footprint for typical detention times of 12 days or less.

BOD removal to levels below 30 mg/l is accomplished in the complete mix and partial mix cells of the LemTec biological treatment process, with final polishing to below 10 mg/l in the tertiary treatment step of the Lemna Polishing Reactor (LPR). Each facility is custom designed and effluent results are guaranteed to the meet NPDES permit requirements.
